So-called 'jihadi bride' Shamima Begum has launched another attempt to be allowed back into the UK after Home Secretary Sajid Javid stripped her of her citizenship in 2019.

Despite swapping her black rags for a colourful hijab and Western clothing - and staging a photo-shoot with a Union Jack cushion in the background - it should never be forgotten that she willingly provided material and moral support for one of the most evil regimes on the planet.

Her legal team may argue that stripping her of her citizenship was unlawful and disproportionate, but allowing her back into the country would give the green light to hundreds of other treasonous individuals who are still implacably opposed to our Western civilisation, our values and our way of life, and who would work to destroy them if they were allowed back in.

The only way forward is to display our unbreakable determination in defending our national security, and if that means updating the laws on citizenship and treason then so be it - sometimes, desperate times require desperate measures.

But let's start by keeping this treasonous woman out of our country!
